Perfect Day

Today has been a perfect day......
After lazing around in the sunshine eating bones and watching the baby bunnies in the garden this morning, this afternoon we went to Findhorn for a walk.

Our Dad came with us and threw sticks.

It was even nice enough to go into the water!

On the way home we stopped off at Burghead, Mum wanted some photos of the harbour, but look what was following the little boats..........a large pod of dolphins. These were the few pics Mum got of them, she had the camera set to rapid burst but you still need to get the timing right.....we have around 400 or so photos of just sea! How cool to see these though :o)

Then we were treated to a gorgeous light show. These are all taken from our back garden and straight from the camera, no editing (apart from cropping), the colours were amazing!

As we said........today was perfect.

Here are some random photos......our new local walk, the liney, just out the back of our house.

Funny faces.

Fun chases.

Extreme bitey-face!

In the garden.

Some birds, one dead...oops!

Some passing boats...and rigs.

These are the colourful beach huts at Hopeman.

Lots more photos to come.........and some romantic reunions :o))

Bloodsuckers

Hello furries and peeps! We've been away from Blogland for so long, but after visiting only a few blogs today we realise that there's alot of heartache going on and it's mostly been caused by ticks.

There's Digby who has had a very bad reaction to a tick bite........and Petey's HHI friend Lulubelle who has Rocky Mountain Tick Fever. Paws crossed they both make a full recovery, and soon.

Our Mum has a friend who has suspected Lyme disease and she's really suffering with it. This awful disease is caused by being bitten by an infected tick. It is easily treated in it's early stages with antibiotics but in later stages can attack the nervous system and cause all sorts of terrible symptoms.....and all due to a long-forgotten bite from a tiny bloodsucking critter!

This month is Lyme Disease Awareness Month.....and we weren't aware of how bad it can be until we Googled it. You can buy one of these pins to support research into the condition here,
but the best thing you can possibly do is to prevent further spread of this and other diseases by treating your pets with an appropriate product........go and see your vet for more information.... and do it TODAY! Other measures you can take are garlic supplements (and give your pets pet-safe ones) and to brush your pets, especially dogs after walking, and regular bathing with an anti flea and tick shampoo.

Lecture over.....we're off to do more visiting....it's great to have decent service at last!
