SkyWatch Friday, Camera Critters and Castles

To see more skies from around the globe or take part visit SkyWatch Friday!

Findhorn was all black clouds, rainbows and planes.

Can't remember what day (!) but this was sunrise from our window....I didn't feel like going to the bottom of the road in my jammies :o)

An ominous sky at Nairn yesterday.

And later at Burghead, we could see heavy showers all across the firth and over the hills....

....and moments later we experienced a similar full-on cloudburst which left us looking like drowned rats....and as for Mum....well let's just say it was scary!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So yesterday I went to Auldearn to pick something up (have you tried your local Freecycle? We scored a leather armchair which the boy has claimed!) I took Rosie along for the ride. (yes, that IS the red blankie!)
Thought since we were out that way anyway we'd visit Cawdor Castle....it must be 25 years since I was last there!
Cawdor is such a pretty castle set in beautiful gardens. The car park is set among ancient towering Oak trees, we thought we'd walk round but we saw the dreaded no dogs sign, grr! The castle itself is surrounded by trees and unless you're willing to pay the £8 entry fee (which yesterday, alone, I was not) you will struggle to get a decent close-up photo.
There is also a golf course in the grounds and ponds, it's very tranquil here. I visited the gift shop and headed back to the car and Rosie. We saw lots of interesting things on the drive home and had to stop and take more photos....
These guys were in a field in the castle grounds, no idea what breed they are but check out their funny hats!
We stared at these Alpacas....they stared back! There were things made from their wool in the castle gift shop but they live on a nearby farm.
Near the Alpaca field we saw these cute little pansies growing wild.
Cawdor village has a pretty little church.
We went to say hello to these guys, but nothing.....they just sat with their noses in the air, like statues! Wonder what our giant friends Walter, Annie & Co would make of them?
On the way home we went to Nairn for a quick run on the beach....
Zoom zoom zoom.....
Our last stop on the way home was nearby Brodie Castle which has this old stone in it's driveway.
Mum is going to take the boy back there today, she'd never hear the end of it if she visited a castle without him and again, no dogs, though when Mum went to take this photo she saw a cheeky little Westie!
In the afternoon we went to grey Burghead for a very wet beach walk (see SkyWatch!)
We found another jelly....not as big but even more gross....looks like phlegm!
Thank you for all still visiting us, we promise to reply to you all soon. Mum is busy trying to set up a website.....anyone know any decent free web builders? NOT Freewebs.com, it's driving her nuts!
Camera Critters, Baby Dane and Woolly Bloomers
This....is Hattie! Isn't she just so cute?
She is a Brindle Great Dane puppy, these were taken last Saturday when she was 12 weeks old....she's already twice the size of Rosie & Gabbi!
She was bred by friends Joanne and Mark, Annie's brother Walter is her Dad and Nana is her Mum...she comes to our training class now :o) You can see more photos of her and her family on their blog.
IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
Petey, in association with Caninescope and MGM pictures, is making a furry version of the classic tale Brigadoon.
With Rosie and Petey in the leading roles 'BEAGADOON' promises to be a Blog Office smash. Auditions for all other roles and of course behind the scenes jobs are taking place this weekend so hop on over to Petey's blog if you fancy your chances in Hollywood!
*************************************
After Rosie's unfortunate photo yesterday, Aunt Bailey, like any good and wise(ish)auntie, decided to send Rosie a pair of Martha's Secret woollen bloomers just like she wears...thanks Auntie! (they do itch a bit though!)
While escorting Rosie to Bermuda last weekend for her first date with Petey Wise(ish) Aunt Bailey had one too many Dark 'n' Stormys and hooked up with Manhattan's most eligible Bloodhound, Wimsey.....she taught him how to do the Highland Fling....and managed to 'misplace' her own bloomers in the process. Wimsey, who found them in his bag when he unpacked, asked Petey if he would be kind enough to return them to her....freshly laundered of course....snap him up quick Auntie, he'll even wash your smalls! (I use the word smalls lightly)
:o):o):o):o):o):o):o):o):o):o):o):o)
Today Mum borrowed our Nanny's camera to take some pictures of us, these are the best of the bunch, we were made to sit.......... *sigh*..............
Even though Alfie and Rosie were very rooood and stuck their tongues out, we still got to go to the park, yippee!
When we got home....look what we found....
...oh no, it's a hole in the spotty wellies! Mum is distraught, she loves the spotted ones :o(
She does have others though....
These ones bug her *snigger* they are a bit small and have really skinny legs so she can't tuck her jeans in them, mmmm....maybe your legs are just too fat Mum? No? Don't be cheeky, eh??
Then there are the classic greens.....surprisingly uncomfortable, also Liam wears them when he comes for a walk with us (even though they are the ladies' version.... he hasn't noticed the label says "Huntress"....shhhh, don't tell!)
Either way.....the spotty ones will soon be no more!
Goodbye old friends :o)
Sunday Scenery and Rosie Returns....
St Leonards Church, Forres
Roseisle Beach
****************************
Rosie's back from her romantic weekend in Bermuda with Petey. For the full story of what they got up to visit Petey's blog, all their holiday snaps are there....they went scuba-diving, scootering and all sorts, it's so funny! Petey has sent Rosie home with gifts for Alfie, Snoop and Gabbi, also a lovely locket for Rosie to treasure, aww....he's so thoughtful! We'll post about them soon.
Hey Rosie....you look tired....I hope it's just jet-lag?
We went for a lovely walk at Roseisle and when we got into the woods we went crazy chasing each other and barking....this Great Dane came to see what all the noise was about....hey, he looks like Waldo!
Snoop was skipping around like a Spring lamb! Mmmm....Spring lamb....*drools*
Rosie likes to sprint on the beach :o)
This is how Gabbi & Rosie looked on the way home!
Camera Critters: Introducing Annie
Allow us to introduce....Annie!
Annie is our Great Dane friend, she has appeared on the blog before with her brother Walter and cousin Nana as we sometimes car-share to shows but some of you may have missed earlier posts.
Today Joanne took Annie over to walk with us at Roseisle. Most of the shots were blurry like this due to the dogs doing zoomies round the woods....
.....and on the beach!
Snoop ignores it all and does his usual sniffy-tailwagging routine.
We go to obedience classes you know!
Joanne has taken our chicken over for us, Alfie recognises the boxes....and that familiar aroma!
