Almost Red Snooters....

Well, the first deadline for Red Snooter shots has been and gone....one of the noses I sent has not arrived yet and a couple of others only arrived today, which taking the time difference into consideration didn't leave much of a window! I have decided to postpone the deadline for pictures until 10pm GMT this evening (Tuesday). All being well, the poll will be up and voting will still start at midnight. Our guestbook will be moved to the bottom of the page for the duration....just incase anyone's looking for it....why not put your Snooter shots on it?

I mentioned that i'd emailed the Red Nose website regarding the problems people were having with the digital downloads and today(!!) I received the following reply:

Sorry to take so long getting back to you – I have only just had your details passed to me.
Regarding the digital noses, I’m afraid that the mechanism for adding them to photographs has been taken down now. Regarding the people having problems with getting the noses onto pictures, it sounds like it is a settings issue on their computers – if JavaScript isn’t enabled on their browsers then there is a lot of website content that they won’t be able to view on the internet. I could send a variety of ‘fixes’ for this, however, as the mechanism is no longer up and running, it may not be needed.
Please let me know if you would like the instructions for enabling JavaScript on web browsers and I’d be happy to send it to you.

I do hope that this hasn’t adversely affected the fundraising efforts you had in mind.

So, sorry folks....I WILL be more organised in future!

My photo will be up later today when Mum gets home. Should have been up yesterday as planned but our cable got knocked out due to a fire at the substation so we had no internet when Mum got home last night. I look kinda goofy hehehe

smooches and snooter rubs,

Hi Guys
It is good that they did respond about the digital noses - next year we will all be organised and get in early!
Sounds like a lot of work doing these competitions!
We have left the Adoption Certificate for Bobby since he wanted something in writing - we will have to hope he comes by and picks it up!!
All the doggie bloggers were great at lending him support for his campaign.
We did think the little beagle we met looked like Rosie Posie but she had no fine tartan dress or jewellery on so we knew it couldnt be her.
Have a nice day
love
Martha & Bailey xx

You only play along with the tagging game if you're up for it, or when you are up for it. No forcing, I swear. ;)

We really missed the boat on this one. We're blaming Mom. We'll email you with her excuse.

That is a really cool photo. Mom loved reading the explanation from the tech person. She found that fascinating. What does that say about her?

I'll have to take time to look at all of the red snooters! Looks like there'll be some stiff competition, though!

Take care and hope to chat soon!

I seriously doubt that the issues people were having was due to their not having javascript enabled in their browsers -- as the red nose guys correctly pointed out, if you have javascript disabled, almost nothing on the Web will work (including posting comments on many blogs and responding to CAPTCHAs, most of which rely on javascript for rendering). Also, in every major browser that I know of, javascript is on by default unless the user explicitly turns it off or uses something like the Firefox "NoScript" plugin. It sounds to me like a case of "our site didn't work properly and we didn't want to bother fixing it".

Anyway, I will take off my "computer guy" hat now, and go vote! :-)
