Long Weekend

It's about time I reported on the weekend's events............
On Saturday morning we drove down to an equestrian centre in Fife which is where Perthshire CS held their Open Show. I only had Alfie entered as originally a friend was going to take him while I took the girls to SBC. As Perth show clashed with Scottish Beagle there were no breed classes for Beagles so Alfie was in an NSC class........he came 3rd out of a really strong class of mostly Ridgebacks (think the judge may have been a Ridgeback lady), it was a Saluki that came first and a Ridgeback second.

Once we had finished there we drove to Rigside for the Scottish Beagle Club open show. There was a large entry of hounds and unfortunately neither Rosie or Gabbi were placed in their class. The bitch that went Best in Show was beautiful, well done to her and the other winners! Results and photos can be seen here. While you're there, check out Alfie's brag on the news page!

Rosie & Gabbi at SBC

After leaving Rigside we met up with our Terrier friends to get ready for the show in Arbroath the next day.
Rosie won her graduate class and went up against Alfie for Best of Breed as he had won the open class (Gabbi came 3rd in open). Alfie won BOB and I was overjoyed when he also won the Hound Group, my boy!! His first ever Group win and the first time in the Best in Show line-up for us. My friend's Terrier also won her Group so we were in for BIS together, though she's been there before and was far more calm than me, I was up on the ceiling somewhere!!

Alfie also won the Haughmill Trophy for Best Beagle, he has won trophies at previous shows but I always forget to take them home........this time I remembered so it will be engraved with his name, nice to see who's won it in previous years too!

His win on Sunday means he's now only four points from gaining his ShCM, so fingers crossed for this weekend, we travel down to Fort William for Lochaber's open show on Sunday.
All in all we had a good weekend, tiring but enjoyable and well worth it!

It was made even more tiring for me............on our way home from Arbroath we decided to take the dogs to the beach at St Cyrus to let them stretch out and let off some steam, I got some great photos.........but when I got home and thought i'd upload them I realised i'd lost my phone, oh no! All my numbers and photos! I thought I knew where i'd dropped it, i'd stooped to get through the fence, so I thought i'd go back and look for it the next day..........a five hour round trip! The dogs and I had spent pretty much three days solid in the car, so all credit to their wonderful temperaments...........and a cocktail of caffeine and chocolate for me!

I found my phone........right where I thought it would be!! Can't believe it, and lucky for me it had been dry overnight, how jammy!

The beach photos are of when we walked at St Cyrus (beautiful place). Thanks to Karen and to Blanche and Allan for sending the other photos.

The clock was a freebie from http://oorvisplayground.blogspot.com help yourself!! There are two different Beagle styles as well as a few other breeds, if you mouse over it the ball bounces, cool eh?
