SkyWatch Friday, Camera Critters and Castles
To see more skies from around the globe or take part visit SkyWatch Friday!
Findhorn was all black clouds, rainbows and planes.
Can't remember what day (!) but this was sunrise from our window....I didn't feel like going to the bottom of the road in my jammies :o)
An ominous sky at Nairn yesterday.
And later at Burghead, we could see heavy showers all across the firth and over the hills....
....and moments later we experienced a similar full-on cloudburst which left us looking like drowned rats....and as for Mum....well let's just say it was scary!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So yesterday I went to Auldearn to pick something up (have you tried your local Freecycle? We scored a leather armchair which the boy has claimed!) I took Rosie along for the ride. (yes, that IS the red blankie!)
Thought since we were out that way anyway we'd visit Cawdor Castle....it must be 25 years since I was last there!
Cawdor is such a pretty castle set in beautiful gardens. The car park is set among ancient towering Oak trees, we thought we'd walk round but we saw the dreaded no dogs sign, grr! The castle itself is surrounded by trees and unless you're willing to pay the £8 entry fee (which yesterday, alone, I was not) you will struggle to get a decent close-up photo.
There is also a golf course in the grounds and ponds, it's very tranquil here. I visited the gift shop and headed back to the car and Rosie. We saw lots of interesting things on the drive home and had to stop and take more photos....
These guys were in a field in the castle grounds, no idea what breed they are but check out their funny hats!
We stared at these Alpacas....they stared back! There were things made from their wool in the castle gift shop but they live on a nearby farm.
Near the Alpaca field we saw these cute little pansies growing wild.
Cawdor village has a pretty little church.
We went to say hello to these guys, but nothing.....they just sat with their noses in the air, like statues! Wonder what our giant friends Walter, Annie & Co would make of them?
On the way home we went to Nairn for a quick run on the beach....
Zoom zoom zoom.....
Our last stop on the way home was nearby Brodie Castle which has this old stone in it's driveway.
Mum is going to take the boy back there today, she'd never hear the end of it if she visited a castle without him and again, no dogs, though when Mum went to take this photo she saw a cheeky little Westie!
In the afternoon we went to grey Burghead for a very wet beach walk (see SkyWatch!)
SkyWatch Friday, New Toy and Rosie's Return
So far on this blog almost all of the photos have been taken using my little phone camera, some with Liam's phone which has a slightly better zoom and the odd few have either been taken with a loaned camera or by someone else. But today something fantastic happened....a very special and VERY generous friend sent me a brand new digital camera, it's a little Fujifilm Finepix and I absolutely love it! Tonight's peaches and cream sky promised another gorgeous sunset, so Alfie and I headed down to Findhorn to catch it.
Seals! You can biggify all the pics here, including the collage.
For more skies from around the world visit SkyWatch Friday!
Hey friends! It's Rosie here :o) Since i've been cooped up for three whole weeks i've decided to hijack this post! I was so excited to get to the beach today....and just look what we found when we got there....my sweetie Petey had written a love note in the sand on his beach in South Carolina and the wind blew it all the way over to Findhorn....just for me! We got there just in time to see it before the incoming tide swallowed it up, phew....and Rosie Y Petey too!
Snoop and Gabbi came to the beach too (even though my season has finished Alfie the doofus still won't leave me alone so he had to stay home *snigger*). This was our starting point, look how blue the sky is!
It was pretty noisy as there were lots of jets flying over today.
It was windy too, look how big the waves are!
It was warm and sunny though and we did a lovely loop along the beach and back through Rabbit City. My snooter was even more sensitive to all the delicious smells than usual and Mum says it's a good job us girls were on our leads!
Snoop is more playful than usual when Alfie is not around. He got a bad case of the zoomies and taunted us to play with him...grrr...Mum, please can we get off our leads? We'll be good, we promise....look how much fun he's having....NOT FAIR!
We have an award to post and we still need to play Clive's tag....hopefully we'll manage to do those and catch up with you all over the weekend :o)
True Colours: Rainbow...And We Got Mail!
The True Colours theme today is RAINBOW (many coloured). Visit our hostess Blue and leave a comment if you are playing...the more the merrier!
With two teenage girls and a woman who lives in wellies, our socks are all the colours of the RAINBOW....below are the best welly ones.
This RAINBOW bag comes to training with us for poo bags, treats, toys etc.
Different types of RAINBOW... above, the front door glass makes little ones all over the wall....and below, our favourite....a sundog.
And of course, the real deal :D
Next week's colour is CERISE, bright pink....I think we can manage that...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We got a parcel! It's from Snoop's princess, Kira all the way over in Florida....woohoo!
Look what Kira's Mom made for us. It's a little Beagle pendant, isn't it cute? It's not for Snoop, he's just modelling it! And a lovely card to Snoop from Kira too.
And.....a Christmas decoration, it's Snoop all tangled up in fairy lights, now Kira, are you trying to teach him bad habits...or are you saving that for your next date? Hehe :D
No matter how we tried we couldn't get a decent photo of either that wasn't blurred...and we dogs didn't get to open the parcel as Mum knew it was delicate. If you haven't visited Kira yet, why not pop over and say hello....there are links to her Mom's art and online stores in the sidebar, so if you're looking for a personalised handmade gift....
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
But what's this? Another parcel? Smells like it's from far far away....wow, look it says Singapore post on it....come on, let's open it....
It's from our good friends Cocoa and Barley....just look at all the goodies....and it smelt even more amazing once it was open!
Squeaky toys, a cool frisbee thing, a foot file thingamijig to file our nails (it's brilliant)....a card with a sweet message from the 2 Beans...and look, a beautiful bracelet that their Mom made for ours, it's so pretty!
But best of all....and this is what smelt so great....Sea Jerky! Oh, it's amazing....SO TASTY!
Mmmmm....crunch crunch, nom nom nommmm.....
More please!
Thank you so much for the goodies Beans, you're too kind :D
Today we went to Roseisle, we being Mum, Snoop and Alfie....and the boy came along too. It was such a beautiful day and we were surprised to have the place to ourselves, apart from the odd plane....and trucks on OUR beach, hmph!
What can we say....he's camera-shy....unlike some...!
It's long....and there's howling...but lots more, I got carried away :o)
We have been tagged by Clive to play a game....we haven't forgotten Clive and we'll get it done over the weekend, we should manage to catch up with visiting everyone too but for the minute we are working on
Post #200
which is tomorrow....don't forget to comment to be entered into the draw!
