Hmmmm....

Wow, thanks for all the comments and advice on the situation with Gus. I felt what alot of you said before I read it but was led to believe that I was overreacting by my M.I.L....."that's just what cats do Nicky" she said.

Anyway, part of the problem has been solved. Last night as we set off to walk the dogs, Gus was sitting outside this woman's kitchen window. We put the dogs away, went back over and called him and he came running over to us. Took him indoors, brushed him, fed him etc and he settled down to sleep quite happy. Without having a confrontation we have what we wanted, I think the other neighbour (the one who told us where he was) has maybe said something to her about how unhappy I was with the whole catnapping thing....and yesterday's post now seems a tad over dramatic!

Thing is, he WAS sitting outside her house.....obviously waiting for her to come back, perfectly free to come home but choosing not to. So, we're feeding only water and dry kibble (we've tried BARF with him but he's not interested) which is what we've always fed him, he gets no tinned meat and no milk (we knew about the lactose thing) and has never known any different, it's what he's used to.....until now. This woman we know has been giving him milk, I suspect she has given him tinned meat too....of course, he's had a taste and wants more. I haven't seen her yet, she was out at work all day yesterday.....but Craig saw her going into her house this morning. He also saw Gus trying to get in with her and her not letting him......HE WANTS TO LIVE WITH HER NOW!! And to make matters worse, the dogs are more excited than ever to see him, he's been away so long.....we're going to have to do a refresher on how to behave around the cat....and stop the chase instinct and pack mentality triggering WW3 every time Gus is around....and maybe a nice tin of sardines once a week to keep him interested!

Anyway, thanks for all the advice....we'll take some of it and keep you posted. Maybe i'll put a card through her door saying thankyou for looking after the cat during the storms but please don't put anymore food out for him!

In the meantime, here are some random videos of how we spent yesterday (since we can't post photos) sorry if they make the page slow-loading....

Dinnertime.

Rosie licks her lips after dinner!

Rosie plays with the cat....

Snoop and Rosie enjoy a game of tag at the park....Alfie gets bossy! (Pardon the noise level, it was pretty windy!)

Hometime.

That's all for now....we're off to begin the mammoth task of visiting you....bear with us, it's gonna take a while!

Mono Maniacs

This week I decided to do a sepia entry, this collage just didn't look right in black and white.

The Marina at Nairn

To play along with Mono Maniacs on ANY day of the week just visit Aileni to link your post.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Today we took Summer to Inverness for a new gym kit, we walked the boys at Nairn on the way home. Gabbi stayed to keep Rosie company.
Our sofas are covered to save them from any mess from the girls....Alfie objects to the blanket!
Remember Tellytubby Land the other day? Well this is Summer's new gym t-shirt! When she was little Po was her favourite :o)
We also saw a giant rabbit for sale in Pets At Home....(I felt bad for him and didn't think to photograph him, but he was very cute) Summer squealed and begged me to buy him but I don't think the Beagles would have understood!
Snoop's Saucy Swim!
You may or may not know that the object of Snoop's desires is Kira and after protesting yesterday that Snoop is too young for her, he ran straight down to Findhorn and jumped off the pier in an insane bid to swim to Florida and prove his love!
Well, as you an imagine we were all distraught and informed the Coastguard of his foolish plan, I mean, he could have booked AireRuby!
Shortly after he left, the local lifeboat launched....
....followed by the Sea King chopper which was scrambled from RAF Lossiemouth....
Meanwhile in Florida, a very distressed Kira went out in her own boat to see if she could find him.
A little while later Snoop was spotted approaching the Florida coast, looks like he had a lucky escape....it's amazing how quickly you can doggy-paddle to the one you love,
it seems he did get to see Kira after all....
....but not before partying for a while at Spring Fling!
Who knew he was such a hunk? And is that a hint of a smirk we see on his face? Or is he just wishing his lady will come to his rescue?
Working With the Snuggle Puggle: Scarf
WARNING: THIS POST MAY MAKE YOU VERY SLEEPY, DO NOT DRIVE OR OPERATE HEAVY MACHINERY AFTER VIEWING!
Alfie and Snoop love their Dad and have been busy making him a scarf to match his Beagle hat, what good boys!
We walked in sunny Findhorn again today, surprisingly few pictures since we were out for hours! (Mum is trying to control her camera finger!)
Lots of sniffs to sniff and peemail to return, we were pooped when we got home!
After a drink (of ice) from our barrel and a bite to eat we settled down for a snooze, but not before Snoop had a hilarious and lengthy yawning episode!
Can you see Rosie?
The animals went in 2 by 2....
Here are some photos of yesterday's walks....our car is out of action so I can't get to the beach *sigh* so i'm having to walk at the park and Cluny Hill. I am taking the dogs over in pairs because I can't cope with all of them up the hill....too many distractions: Large burrows (which two Spaniels went into and never came out of :o( a while back) rabbits, deer, bikes, joggers, lots of dogs, including bitches on heat (it really bugs me when they walk their in-season bitches off lead in the most popular dog walks in the area....aarrghh!) people from the Foundation who sit in Helge's Hole and meditate (or at least they try to....they're apparently so much fun to stand next to and howl....or wee on if they're sitting really still!) so off we went, two at a time....I feel like Noah! The photos are mostly of Gabbi and Snoop, it was getting dark by part II.
The fastest sledging slope, so much fun!
Nice skies....the last one is the view of Findhorn Bay you get from the Hill.
More wind damage casualties....
